The HBRA of CT’s Workforce Development Program
From 2005 – 2010, the HBRA of CT’s Workforce Development Program worked with high schools and community colleges promoting residential construction career opportunities. CIPBR helped expand outreach programs, establish more NAHB Student Chapters in the state and create more educational opportunities for students interested in home building. You may see references to buildyourcareer.net, which is no longer branded to the HBRA of CT, CIPBR or the construction workforce, but the need for workers in construction is as great as it has ever been.HBI Grant for Workforce Development: In late fall 2005, CIPBR received a significant workforce development grant from the NAHB Home Builders Institute and U.S. Dept. of Labor to build a residential construction curriculum in Connecticut’s schools at all levels and foster the development of the residential construction workforce throughout the state. CIPBR’s workforce development program created The Residential Construction Career Institute.
